Thank you Karl. I knew it was disobeying God to touch the Ark of the Covenant, but the alternative of letting it fall to the ground seemed wrong, until I just read about dirt not being forbidden. Sometimes it's seems like a lose/lose between disobeying (touching it = sin) and doing wrong (it getting dirty), but in those situations there is always a prior disobedience that results in feeling caught in a situation where you can't win. Obeying always needs to be the choice.
